The first time I dyed my hair with the Ion Brilliance Brights, it came our different shades of grey, lets go with 50 of them. I added 10 vol. developer and left it on for 10 minutes thinking it was like a toner. Although I loved it, even if it wasn’t Lavender the first time, my hair faded so quickly that I had to dye it again. So when I looked up the product details and instructions, it said it didn’t need any developer with it and it was ready to use, leave in for 30 mins.

So I decided to apply the color again but this time for 30 minutes and no developer, and I got this look! I was really digging the color and was just waiting for it to fade again because I knew it would fade but I was hoping it would to the grey that I desired the first time. I have to say the color is tricky to work with especially if your not a professional. Your hair has to be at a level 9-10 (light blonde/platinum) to get the exact color you desire from the box. But honestly any colored hair that is light is super tricky to work.

TWO-THREE WEEKS LATER

So with that being said, I decided to film myself this time around dying my hair with the same color because my roots came in and I couldn’t stand it any longer. So as you can see in the video everything didn’t go as planned, but I’m happy with the color I got at the end. I’m guessing because of the green undertone I had before when I applied the lightener it brought it out even more, but it looks cool so I’ll stick with this for now & next month I will have a brand new color! What should I do next?

Also in this video after I applied the Lavender I washed my hair and my roots were still blonde so I had to put more lightener and re do again and this is the color I got.

Products I used: Sally’s Beauty Supply Store

  • Two mixing color bowls (1 for lightener, 1 for color)
  • Two tint brush
  • Clips
  • Rat Tail Comb
  • Gloves
  • 40 vol. developer (lightener)
  • Salon Care Quick White
  • 10 vol. developer (for color, not suppose to use it with it but I like to add a little to make it creamy because the product is very thick) they also have a clear color and I’m sure that’s a better option to use and it also dilutes the color if it’s too bright for you.
